Ecopsychology offers a grounded, experiential practice that supports Transitioners to reconnect with themselves, each other, and the living world. In times of uncertainty and ecological crisis, it helps settle the nervous system, ease anxiety, and cultivate a sense of belonging within something larger than the individual self. Through this reconnection, it nurtures active hope, compassion, and a wider perspective on our place in the world.
At its core, this practice is about restoring relationship across three dimensions: personal, social, and ecological. It invites participants into a lived experience of the “ecological self” - the understanding that we are not separate from nature, but deeply embedded within it. Practices may include nature connection, imagination, creative expression, and sensory awareness. One example is “elemental practice,” where participants consciously connect with earth, water, air, and fire - not as abstract ideas, but as living forces within and around us. By recognizing that we are made of these elements, we ground ourselves in the present moment and access a steady place we can return to.
Ecopsychology works by gently dissolving the perceived separation between mind, body, and environment. It supports a movement away from purely cognitive ways of knowing toward embodied, relational awareness. Drawing on frameworks like the Five Pathways to Nature Connectedness; connection, emotion, beauty, compassion and meaning. It fosters integration, healing, and a deepened sense of wholeness.
For those who engage with it over time, this practice becomes a steady source of resilience, presence, and quiet joy amid the complexities of change.

Support the movement
We offer these webinars free of charge to spread the good work and inspiration that these people are doing. It takes countless hours of coordination, resources and preparation to bring this all together.
If you have received value, inspiration from the series and want to reciprocate, or simply want to support us, we are now fundraising to put together an in-person international transition gathering in Portugal for May 2027. We do not have a budget for this, and are relying on donations and support to make it happen. If you are able to donate and support this cause it would be greatly appreciated!
